Some children don't struggle because they can't learn…
they struggle because they learn differently
When learning matches the child, confidence returns.
That is why TEMMA exists.
Our Story
TEMMA Learning Centre was created from a simple but important realisation: many capable children struggle not because they lack ability, but because their learning environment does not reflect how they think and experience the world.
Over time, it became clear that many of these children were being misunderstood. Their curiosity, creativity, and sensitivity were often seen as difficulties rather than strengths.
TEMMA was founded to provide a learning environment where these children could be understood more deeply. Instead of focusing only on correcting difficulties, we focus on helping children recognise their strengths, rebuild confidence, and develop meaningful ways to engage with learning.
Our goal is not only to support academic growth, but also to nurture curiosity, resilience, and self-understanding.
What Makes TEMMA Different
Not just what we teach — how children experience learning here.
Understanding Before Instruction
Learning begins with understanding how the child thinks, feels, and processes the world.
Strengths Before Difficulties
A child's natural abilities and interests guide how learning experiences are designed.
Growth Over Pressure
Children develop best when they feel safe to explore, question, and learn at their own pace.
What this looks like in practice
The TEMMA Way
The TEMMA Way reflects the principles that guide how we work with children and families. It represents a commitment to thoughtful, patient, and authentic learning experiences.
Teach
Learning experiences are designed with care, respecting how each child thinks and learns.
Everything
Children feel supported when their feelings, perspectives, and experiences are recognised.
Making
Learning becomes powerful when it connects with curiosity, exploration, and real experiences.
Moments
Development is a gradual process that requires patience, encouragement, and reflection.
Authentic
Children learn best when they are able to explore ideas genuinely rather than simply memorising information.
